Wedding Cake Pulls
Wedding cake pulls are part of the Victorian era traditional wedding. A bride would hide small charms attached to satin ribbons in the icing of her wedding cake. The bride would have each of her bridesmaids, as well as other important women in her life, pull a charm from the cake. Each charm had a special meaning or would foretell the future of the person who pulled the charm. Some brides do not want the charms in the cake with all the mess. You can place them under the cake tray, in a gift box, or vase of flowers. White Tiger Creations packages a set of six wedding cake pulls which includes the charms with white organza ribbons on a card with the meaning of each charm. We will also include a second sheet of the meanings on plain paper that you can cut apart and roll into scrolls to attach to the end of the ribbons. Cake pulls have become popular at bridal showers, birthdays, religious events – any event involving a cake! Charms are wonderful party favors for your guests, providing them with a keepsake of the important day. Refer to our Wedding Charms and Charms pages for additional choices or e-mail us at sales@WhiteTigerCreations.com for specific charms you are looking for. The charms we carry are silvertone pewter, but most are available in goldtone or sterling silver; some are available in gold-fill. Other variations include: Fortune Bouquet – the bride's toss bouquet is actually made of small individual flowers or small bouquets. Each single flower/small bouquet has a ribbon tied around it with the charm attached. Tie the individual flowers together with a ribbon until you are ready to toss it. The small flowers with the charms attached separate and instead of having one fortune told (one bouquet catcher who will be the next to marry), you will have multiple predictions for your single friends. Bride’s Bracelet – Each person attending the shower pulls a charm from the cake. This is their personal prediction but each charm is then added to a charm bracelet for the bride. This becomes her bracelet of good wishes from her friends for her new married life.
