About Our Products

At White Tiger Creations, we specialize in custom designing our pieces so you can create the look you want. Most of our pieces may be customized through the selection of length, clasp, and earwire; silver or gold metals; and gemstone, glass pearl, or crystal color. When you select a necklace or bracelet, there is a pulldown noting the standard lengths and the prices. Please check out our Options pages for your other choices and then have fun! Customize for yourself or gifts for family and friends; we can size pieces for girls and boys, too. Many of our selections can be custom sized to fit you to your satisfaction. Remember - not everyone has the "average" neck, wrist, or ankle size. We want our jewelry to fit you the way you want it to.

In addition to offering fine handcrafted one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry pieces, we also offer our custom order services for individual commissioned pieces. These custom orders may be variations of our designs presented here or a production of an existing client supplied jewelry design. Simply e-mail your information to Barbara@WhiteTigerCreations.com and she will work with you to design a piece that is perfect for you. When you place a custom order with us, we will e-mail you with the price and when you have agreed, we will make your item just the way you want it. We will also e-mail you with pricing information if you custom order on the length of a necklace or bracelet.

We strive to provide high quality jewelry and gifts at great prices.

White Tiger Creations is based on a product line of handcrafted necklaces that are beaded all the way around – not just in the front. Therefore, most of our pieces require a greater investment of labor and materials to make than most jewelry available today. Our necklaces are beautiful from every angle, showing off your beautiful neckline! We have added some illusion, liquid silver, and floating necklaces and beaded sterling silver chains to our collection, but the core of our line is still the completely beaded necklace.

Our pieces range in price depending on the type of bead and metal used. We want to provide a quality product across a wide price range so that everyone has a chance to wear a beautiful piece of jewelry. The materials we use are listed below with an explanation of each.

We hope you love our jewelry and gifts as much as we do. We believe in our products 100% and we won't sell anything that we wouldn't wear ourselves.

PLEASE BE AWARE

The appearance of colors on your screen may vary, depending on the hardware and software/browser you are using to view this page. Our full color photos are as accurate as possible, but the colors of the actual pearl and semi-precious gemstone beads you receive will vary. As with all natural pearl and gemstone beads there is a variation in color, size and shape which adds dimension to the necklace. A genuine gemstone is never exactly like another. In the same parcel, from the same mine; there can be infinite variation in color and quality.

Cultured Freshwater Pearls

For your wedding, most of our bridal designs are created using cultured freshwater pearls, from our bridal tiaras down to our Illusion Gloves and Illusion Slippers. We have traditional simple strands of pearls for formal evening wear as well as chandelier earrings. Some of our designs are created using glass pearls, but most of these can be duplicated in freshwater pearls.

Saltwater and freshwater pearls are of three types: natural, cultured, or imitation. Natural pearls are very rare. Most pearls are cultured or produced in "farmed" oysters (saltwater) or mussels (freshwater) using a “seed” on which the oyster deposits nacre, the iridescent material that makes pearls lustrous. These are real pearls. The irritants used in making cultured freshwater pearls are often smaller than those used in saltwater pearls, which results in a pearl with more nacre, or pearl, and less core irritant. Each mussel can yield up to 30 pearls a harvest and so they are less expensive. We use cultured freshwater pearls in our designs. They offer a wider variety of shapes and sizes and colors than other pearls. Currently we carry White Lotus™ cultured freshwater pearls in rice (oval), potato (round), and button shapes. We do not carry the colors, but we can special order peach and mauve in natural colors and several colors are available in dyed pearls.

Crystal & Glass Pearls

We use imitation crystal or glass pearls, not plastic, to create several of our pieces, such as our bridal flower girl necklaces and Illusion Gloves and Illusion Slippers. We prefer the colors available in the imitation glass pearls and use these instead of the dyed pearls. We use two types: standard glass pearls that may be from the Czech Republic or China and Swarovski crystal pearls. The colored glass pearls offer a new option for young women looking for something more classic for the prom, especially when combined with our chandelier earrings. We carry 19 colors in standard glass pearls and they come in round and oval shapes.

When working with Swarovski crystals, we use their line of crystal pearls. These are absolutely stunning crystal beads that give you the look and feel of the most expensive pearls. Swarovski Pearls begin with a crystal core. Then, each pearl bead is uniformly coated with iridescent, mother-of-pearl like layers. The even coating, combined with the crystal base of the pearl beads, gives them a luminosity and luster similar to that of real pearls. Swarovski crystal pearls are beautiful, heavy crystal, not light like plastic or standard glass pearls. We currently only use the white and black crystal pearls, but there are 15-20 colors available for Swarovski (they have just added several colors and we are working with our suppliers to see which colors they will carry). They are only available in round beads.

Swarovski Crystal

Our collection includes several designs with Swarovski crystals, as well as pieces combining the crystals with freshwater pearls and semi-precious gemstones. These stunning pieces make a statement all their own at weddings, pageants, proms, or with formal evening wear. Many of our chandelier earrings are made with the crystals and they make a brilliant show on the pageant runway or the ballroom dance floor. We use the bicone crystals, not rhinestones, in our bridal and pageant tiaras, providing more sparkle.

Swarovski crystals are made from the finest crystal leaded glass. Typically a full 32% of the glass is lead and lead oxide. Each Swarovski crystal bead is cut and faceted, much like a precious stone, by a special mechanical process perfected by Swarovski. This results in extremely sharp edges on each facet, and exact calibration of measurements so the facets produce the maximum sparkle that easily rivals the precious gems. We carry more than 25 colors, but there are over 50 colors available and three special effect finishes.

Semi-precious Gemstones

The core of our men’s jewelry line is the semi-precious gemstone. From the classic black hematite to the bolder mix of bright colored agates, our pieces embody the masculine look. We use several types of jasper, obsidian, and jade, sometimes blending the gemstones with silver and gold beads.

We create our pieces using many of the popular semi-precious gemstones. We want our jewelry to be affordable for the many and not just a few, so we create most of our pieces with the moderately priced gemstones. Refer to our Options pagesfor a listing of our semi-precious gemstones and for charts for birthstones, anniversary beads, and zodiac beads. These charts, along with the photos on our site, show most of the colors we have available. We carry more than 50 semi-precious gemstones, providing several options for colors and designs.

Many of our gemstones are natural, but some have been enhanced or are man-made. We use the following symbols in our Combined Color Chart under gemstones to designate enhanced, synthetic, and imitation (man-made) gemstones. All of the symbols used are those described by the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA). Natural gemstones will not have a symbol.

B Bleaching – chemical agents are used to lighten or remove a gemstone's color

D Dyeing – coloring matter is introduced into a gemstone to give it new color, intensify present color, or improve to color uniformity

H Heating – heat is used to effect a desired alteration of color, clarity, and/or phenomena

IMIT Imitation – man-made products, fabricated in such materials as glass, ceramic or plastic, designed to imitate or resemble the appearance, but not duplicate the characteristic properties, of a natural gemstone

SYN Synthetic – man-made materials which have essentially the same optical, physical and chemical properties as a naturally occurring gemstone

Magnetic Hematine

For a little bit of fun, we have added magnetic hematine to our gemstone set. Most magnetic “hematite” on the market is actually man-made, but not all retailers note this. Our supplier calls their stone “hematine” and we use that name in our catalog. Most of our hematite pieces can be made with the magnetic, either fully magnetic or as a mix of the two stones.

Magnetic therapy has been said to ease the pain of such ailments as arthritis, carpal tunnel, nerve and muscle pain. Although we have had customers tell us they believe the magnets work, we do not promote the jewelry for this purpose. We just think they are fun to play with.

Cat's Eye Fiber-Optic

Cat's eye fiber-optic beads are man-made and they change hue as they capture the light, appearing to shine from below the surface. They have a band of light running through the center that resembles a cat's eye, thus the name. The optical illusions within each cat's eye bead create a stylish movement when worn. These are Barbara's favorite glass beads, so she has created several designs with them, especially in our His and Hers designs. We carry 25 colors in cat's eye beads.

Refer to our Options pagesfor a listing of our cat’s eye colors and for charts for birthstones, anniversary beads, and zodiac beads. These charts, along with the photos on our site, show most of the colors we have available.

Czech Fire-Polished Crystal

Fire-polished beads possess a look all their own. They are formed in a mold, machine faceted and then fire polished to give them a subtle sheen that is softer and smoother looking than Swarovski crystal. We carry 26 colors in the crystals. Czech fire-polished crystals offer a quietly elegant piece for weddings, pageants, proms, or formal evening wear. We use the Czech crystals on our simple tiaras and some of our customers prefer the Czech crystal in our Illusion Gloves and Illusion Slippers.

Czech Pressed Glass and Imported Beads

Some of our gemstone and crystal designs use Czech pressed glass, German, or India glass, or imported beads of various materials such as glass, bone, nut, or shell. Many of these materials are used in our His and Hers designs.

Metal Beads and Findings

We use several types of metal beads and findings. Most of our designs use silverplate or goldplate, but our pearl, Swarovski crystal, and some of our gemstone designs use sterling silver and gold-filled parts. We also use pieces with plating called silvertone or goldtone. This coating is more durable than silverplate and goldplate. We try to note in the description of the pieces what type of metal is used. In order to create some of our designs, specific shapes are needed that are only available in nonprecious metals, such as the filigree pieces in our Illusion Gloves and Illusion Slippers. The charms that we use are pewter with an antique silver finish.

For our French hooks and posts, we use at least silverplate or goldplate. If they are plated on surgical steel, this will be noted. All of our earrings can be made up with any of our hooks or posts. See Options: Earwires & Posts for the findings that we carry. If the earrings are made with silverplate or goldplate and you want sterling silver, gold-filled, or 14k gold we will need to adjust the pricing accordingly. Due to price fluctuations in the gold market, we do not stock 14k gold findings, but we can special order.

The type of clasp used is another item you may customize. The clasps are shown at Options: Clasps. If the clasp is made of silverplate or goldplate, a price adjustment is made to make the piece with a sterling silver, gold-filled, or 14k clasp. We do not stock 14k gold clasps, but we can special order.

Stringing Material

Our jewelry is strung on a very strong, very flexible 49-strand stainless steel nylon-coated wire. Unlike other stringing wire and chain-link, this wire won't kink or separate.

Measurements

We give bead measurements in mm (millimeters) because that is the jewelry industry standard. One inch = 25mm. Thus a 12mm bead is about a half inch. Most of our designs are created using 6mm beads, which are about a quarter inch. So please take note of the sizes we indicate as well as all the other details we provide, so you know what you are ordering. E-mail us if you are uncertain about the item.

Product Availability

Although we make every effort to update our web site, there may be times that an item is temporarily unavailable. In this case, you will be notified by e-mail about the situation. Certain items may be marked one-of-a-kind and are not available for multiple orders. If you select an item marked limited edition, you may want to check with us on availability. Product availability is subject to change without notice.
